Hilton Chinese Cabbage

A superior Napa-type Chinese cabbage variety that has seldom been seen in the U.S. Medium-sized barrel-shaped heads are densely packed with crinkled, mild-tasting leaves. The preferred variety in the U.K. Great raw or stir-fried, or in homemade kimchi! 

Glory of Enkhuizen Cabbage

Introduced in 1899 by Sluis & Groot in Enkhuizen, Holland. Medium-large, hard, round heads. An early, excellent-keeping variety that is a good producer and good for kraut. 

Hida Beni Red Turnip

Supremely crisp, sweet and mild, the white and red, fine-grained flesh makes this a top fresh-eating salad turnip.. Its origin was from a former part of Takayama called Hachigago, where a local turnip of reddish-purple hue was widely grown. In 1918, this red-colored mutant was discovered from these Hachiga turnips and named Hida Beni Red Turnip. It is excellent for making pickles 

Nagasaki Akari Kabu Turnip

A stunningly beautiful and delicious turnip traditionally grown in lovely Nagasaki, Japan. This sweet turnip has a plum to wine color skin with a hint of delicate purple in the sweet, crisp flesh. Great for pickling and a delicious raw turnip for fresh eating and salads. 

Purple of Sicily Cauliflower

Beautiful, brilliant purple heads weigh 2-3 lbs and are a fine, sweet flavor. The heads cook to bright green. Insect-resistant, it is also easier to grow than many white varieties, and it is rich in minerals. This colorful heirloom is from select Italian seed.

 An Italian non-heading broccoli grown for flavorful, asparagus-like spring shoots and leaves. This one is great for cooking or in salads. Loaded with vitamin A, and so delicious!

Red Rubine Brussel Sprout

A hard-to-find heirloom variety that is colorful in cool late fall weather. The stunning purple-red sprouts are filled with antioxidants. These have a really nice, sweet flavor when grown in cool weather. 

Purple Top White Globe Turnip

Uniform smooth white globes, white skin, sweet, mild, fine-grained, white flesh. Roots are best eaten at 3-4 inches but remain in good condition until quite large. Large tops make delicious greens. Stores very well.


Early Sprouting Purple Broccoli

A sublime wintertime treat, this buttery soft, nutty-flavored broccoli from the U.K.  Gardeners in cooler climates can grow this over winter in hoop houses or greenhouses. Listed in John Mason’s seed catalog in 1793.
